Mark first started improvising at the age of 13. In 1995 he graduated from the University College of Ripon and York with a degree in « Theatre, film and television ». In 1996 he moved to Paris and continued his career as a professional improviser.

In 2001 he was one of the founding members of the Improfessionals. The Improfessionals were pioneers of Anglophone style improvisation in France and Mark has explored a wide range of improvisation formats with them: Cabaret, Long form, Gorilla, Maestro, Improvised Musicals, Trance Mask, Theatresports, Catch Impro, Match d’impro…

Mark directed the first regular Maestro in French in 2010. Then in 2012 Mark organized and supervised the French translation of Keith Johnstone’s book “Impro – improvisation and theatre”.

He also teaches and makes Trance Masks and created “Trance Mask France” to promote this line of improvised performance in France in 2015.

In recent years he has toured with his unique show format “Trio” where he performs a long form with 2 audience members. www.triolespectacle.com

Mark has worked with many international improvisation teachers and he participates in improvisation festivals all over Europe.
